The infamous Brixton Market. Home a melting pot of cultures and people. I love coming here because there is so much to see and experience. The market also makes me feel at home with all the availability of Jamaican products. Some you can't find anywhere in London but here.
Brixton Market or Brixton Village has a range of restaurants and bars too. Whether you are a meat eater or not something is on the menu for you too. If you ever get the chance to visit don't forget to look up. There are banners displaying words from many different languages and is accompanied by their meanings. You'll learn a word or two while you explore.
Brixton is such an iconic place. Many people who have never been there, tell tales of what they've heard of it in books or songs. Some may tell you about the Brixton riots, others may tell you of how it was a home for many Caribbean immigrants in years past. Nothing as changed with regards to the latter but other people other people are also settling there. One thing that I'd hope for is that it will always be a vibrant place.
Special thanks to Ms Tracy Queen Bee. Always so hospitable and allowing me to use her fan as prop. Her store can be found in the village.
Special thanks to Brixton Cornercopia for allowing me to take photos outside their beautiful plant shop
